Thomas Congeherst
of Hawkeherst in Kent, gentilman, the fyveth day of the moneth of August
1504. To be buried in the church of Seynt Laurence of Hawkehurst in the
south part of the same church. To the Roode light 4d. To the light of
Seynt Laurence 4d. To high awter of Sandeherst 20d, of Salehurst 8d, of
Echyngham 12d. To the mendyng of the fote pathe bitwene my dwellyng
house & the said church of Hawkeherst 3s 4d.
To Edward Borden 3s 4d. To the mariage of Elizabeth Borden 6s 8d. To
Joyce Congeherst my doughter 20 marc orells oon pece of lond called
Postern Feld conteynyng 10 acres. To Ann Ramysden 6s 8d. To the mariage
of Kateryn the doughter of Cristofer Congeherst 40s. I will Kateryn my
wife shalhave to hir owne propre use all my utensiles & necessaries
in my house holly as it stondith.
To Thomas the son of John Congeherst 6s 8d. To every of the children of
the same John 3s 4d. To Anne the doughter of George Congeherst 3s 4d. To
Thomas the son of John Mercer the elder 3s 4d. Residue to Kateryn my wif
whome I make myne executrice togider wt William Borden. Thies witnes, Sr
Thomas Hert, curat of Hawkeherst, John Mercer thelder of the same, John
Sampson of Cranbroke and other.
