Henry Perot, dated at
London Sunday before the feast of the Apostles Simon & Jude 1393. To
be buried in the churchyard of St Laurence in Jewry, London. I leave to
the vicar of Rolvenden for tithes etc forgotten 6s 8d. To the rector of
Bydyngden 6s 8d.
To Alice my daughter a piece of silver called a ‘Bolle’ with a cover
which was William Holden’s and 12 silver spoones and one pair of
paternosters of ‘cristall’. I leave to William Breton husband of the
said Alis my girdle of silver harnessed, & my gold ring with signet
graven.
I leave to William son of the said William Breton and Alice a silver
maser and 6 silver spoons.
To Richard Ossebarn, clerk, 20s & my better portous. To Stephen atte
Leghe 20s, a mattress which I have at ‘Guihald’ etc. To Roger
Pirifeld a good cow, 8 busshels wheat & 16 busshels of oats. To
Sarah wife of the said Roger other 5 silver spoons at Rolvenden. To John
son of the said Roger my third best cow and 6s 8d. To Johan daughter of
the said Roger 10s.
I leave to 5 chaplains at the ‘Guihald’ chapel to pray for my soul
13s 4d. To Sir John Bromle, chaplain 5s. To each priest in the church of
St Laurence celebrating 4d. To John Marchant, clerk, 6s 8d. To Philip
Rykhale, clerk, 6s 8d.
I leave to Laurenc my sister 10s & Sarah her servant 3s 4d. To Johan
my sister 6s 8d. To Sarah my sister 3s 4d. To Alice my sister 6s 8d. To
Agnes my sister 6s 8d. To John Hevutr (?Hevitree) canon, 13s 4d. To John
Daugy, chaplain 6s 8d.
At my burying two tapers of wax each of them weighing 8lb, one to remain
before the image of the Blessed Mary & the other before the image of
St Laurence.
Residue to Alice my daughter & executors Wm Breton senior, & the
said Richd Ossbarn.
Proved 5th of the Kalends of Nov. 1393 [PCC 9 Rous]
