Herbert Fynche of Sandeherst in Kent, Esquyer, 12 Marche 7 Edward VI. To be buried in the high chancel of Sandeherst where my grandfather lyeth.
To Katheryn my doughter £100 and eight old Ryalls at her marige so that she marry by devise & agrement of her frends that is for to saye her mother Anne Fynche John Covers her unkell & Anthony Pelham her cosyn.
Unto Barnardyne Fynche my sonne £20 upon condicon that the said Bernardyne go to lernyng or ells not to have yt and to the same Barnardyne my somer clothe gowne & my gowne furred with blacke conye & my night gowne, one joyned bedstede in the porche chamber with a fetherbedd, bolster, pillows, blanketts & covering, & three payre of sheets.
To John Fynche my sonne saxe workinge oxen, 8 kyne & 3 marces. To William Payne my servaunt £3.6.8. To Thomas Browne my boye 40s. Herbert Payne my godsonne 6s 8d. Johane Raynold my servaunt 20s & Agnes my servaunt 6s 8d. Anne my servaunt 5s & Johane Edenden 6s 8d. To Thomas my servaunt 20s. To John Sharp of Northiam one yonge gelding.
Residue to Anne Fynche my wyef she to dispose of them at her discretion amonge my children that is for to saye, Thomas Fynche, Barnardyne F, William F, Anthony F and Katheryn F. my sonnes & doughter, which Anne Fynche I ordeyne my executrix.
Last will: of my lands etc in Kent & Sussex. To Anne Fynche my wife one annuall rent of £8.6.8 out of my landes called Ercheslowe and Sandhill or by any other name in the parishes & towne of Sandwiche whether yt be in Saynt Maris parishe, Seynt Clements or Seynt Peters, now in tenure of Symon Lynche.
The Landes & tenements called Ercheslowe & Sandhill of which the said Symon Lynche now hath to ferme & one letill medowe in the Downes which one Mr Tucke the capitayne lately occupied, unto Barnardyne Fynche my sonne for his lyf & to remayne to John Fynche my sonne & his heries. And for lacke to Thomas Fynche & his eldest heyre & for lacke to the said Barnardyne & for lacke to Anthony Fynch my sone and for lacke to William Fynche my sonne & for lacke to my right heyres.
To the said Anne Fynche my wife one other annuall rent out of lands etc in Estre, Wynstborowe & Word, whiche one Thomas Whitefeld now occupieth and all those landes lyinge in Sandwiche which one Severn now occupieth (with power to enter in default) & also landes in Esthithe, Westhithe, Saltwood & Postlinge to Thoams Fynche & Anthony Fynche my sonnes for life and to remayn to John Fynche my sonne (with remainders as before).
Whereas one Walter Fynche my brother hath one yerely rent for lief at 53s 4d out of the lands bequethed to Thomas and Anthony, the same to be paid after this sorte, that is for to seye, Barnardyne Fynche shall pay yerely to Walter Fynche his uncle 33s 4d and the said Thomas & Anthonye Fynche 20s.
I will John Sharp of Northyam all my landes in Wyttysham for tenne yeres payinge 8s by the yere. All my lands etc in Stone & Wyttersham to Anne Fynche my wife for her lief & then to Barnardyne Fynche my sonne & to him my tenement in Ewherst in Sussex the which George Vynawe now holdith.
