Joan SEARLIS - Will 24 May 1485

Joan relict of John Searlis 24 May 1485. To be buried in the Church near the grave of my father; to the Brotherhoods of St Mary & of St James the Apostle to each 12d & a towel of diaper. To the reparation of the nave my red girdle embroidered, for my burial.
   Joan Baker 10s to her marriage but if she die before then, the money for my soul in the church. Thomas Gros, junior, a silver goblet & Richd Hyk one sprot net. Executors: Thos Gros senior & Stephen Cheeseman, each to have 6s 8d. Laurence Gros my tenement on condition he pays the debts due from him to my executors who with the money to provide a priest to celebrate in the Church for my soul, parents etc for one year. Witnesses: Thomas Gros, Stephen Hodye, James Bate.
