Richard Pulton 9 April 1475. A priest to
celebrate for a quarter of a year for my soul in the church.
To my mother 20s & my best girdle of murray colour with
silver mountings. To Margaret Galway 4 platters.
To the Church of Ivychurch one new chalice price £4.6.8. To
the reparation of the nave of the church of St Mary in the Marsh 6s 8d; of
Hope 6s 8d & of Rokynge 6s 8d.
John Bett my uncle two budds (ie calves) of red & black
colour & to Joan daughter of John Bett two pairs of sheets, one cloth,
napkin & towel; to Agnes daughter of the same John a pair of sheets,
& to William son of the same John one pair of sheets. To each of the
children of John Pulton my uncle two ewes. Executors: John Pulton &
Henry James.
All my lands & tenements in Newchurch & Rokynge to be
sold & the money for my soul – a priest celebrating in the church of
Newchurch & of Lydd for half a year, & the residue in pious uses.
