Martyn CAYSAR - Will 12 April 1499

Martyn Caysar 12 April 1499. To be buried in
the churchyard of All Saints of Lydd, near that Cross which I the
aforesaid Martin lately placed there to the glory of God.
Wife Margarete all my household goods for her life then to
Margaret Caysar my daughter on this condition that she pay to her sister
Joan Glover 40s.
The same Joan Glover my daughter after the death of my wife one
girdle of persblewe colour with silver mounts. Daughter Margarete after
the death of her mother a girdle of purple colour with silver mounts.
Wife Margarete 10 marcs (£6.13.4). A priest to celebrate in
the church for my soul, parents etc for one year & have 11 marcs
(£7.6.8).
Joan my daugher the wife of Thomas Glover 20 marcs &
executors to receive from Thomas Glover that debt which he owes.
Daughter Margerete £20 to her marriage. To Peter Bak 20
marcs; Arnold Nowtys 20s, John a Tye 40s, Jo: Gerrett 13.4, Laurence
Hamond 6.8.
Executors: wife Margarete & Arnold Nowtys. Wife to have tenement where
he lives for her life, then to daughter Margaret & her heirs but if
Margaret die then to Arnold Nowtys & his heirs for ever. Joan Glover
to have the tenement by the churchyard near to the Common Court House (per
cimiterium juxta coiam aula).
Arnold Nowtys to have my tenement of Laurence Hamond &
bounded by the churchyard & highway for his life then to my daughter
Margarete. Witnesses John a tye, Thos Torpe, Laurence Hammond.
