Stephen Grove, 13 July 1450. To be buried in the priory of St Bartholomew next West Smythfeld, London. I leave to Margaret my wife all outgoings & profits of my lands & tenements in Kent in which Dom. Thomas Levesham, clerk, & others are suffered to my use in the parishes of Ivechurch, Brensete & St Lawrence of Romeney, and after her death to Thomas my son & in default to Anne my daughter & in default to me feoffes to dispose in deeds of piety for my soul. To my executors the profits of my messuage in Rye late bought of Margaret my mother & lands in a certain marsh called Ebbeney in the said county late inundated by the sea & now anew rescued from the sea, until my son Thomas be of full age (remainders as before).
I leave to Katherine Wilughby, minoress, to pray for my soule and To the sisters minoresses of London her companions to pray for me 12d. To Dom. John Oxney, monk, my brother 6s 8d. To Margaret my wife 66s 8d or its value. To Benedict Godard 3s 4d. To John Bispecham & John Hawkeslowe 3s 4d. Residue to Dom. Thomas Levesham, Dom. John Stevenys, clerks & the foresaid Margaret my wife, executors. Witnesses: Dom. John Venys canon of the priory aforesaid, John Bispecham, John Hawkeslowe, Alice Derby. [Latin].
Proved 18 July year aforesaid by Thomas Levesham & Margaret relict with reservation for Dom. John Stevenys 22 May 1451. [PCC 12 Rous]
