RICHARD MUG, clerk, vicar of Gountherst [Goudhurst]. 2 March 1508. To be buried in the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Gountherst before the image of the Virgin situated next the high altar. To the light of the herse 40d.
To each priest in the church on the day of my burial and month’s day celebrating mass 20d. To euery of my boy and girl godchildren 12d.
To John Weston my servant all the appertenances now around his bed.
Residue to Richard Mug son of Thomas Mug and John Burgeys to dispose for the health of my soul. [Latin]
Last will of me Richard Mug, Vicar of Gountherst of my londez &e in the parisshes of Gountherst, Cranebroke, Hunton and Lynton or ells where in the Counties of Kent and Sussex. My executor Richard Mug shalhave a messuage wt all londs which I lately purchased of William Basden and Elizabeth his wife in fee symple.
To Thomas Mug son of the said Richard a house and a field called Poyles. To William Mug my mesuage wt all the londs late of Thomas Miller the whiche I purchased of William Horden, paying therefore to myn executors as I paid.
