RICHARD THORNETON of the parish of Kyngesnoth in Kent. 12 November 1513. To be buried in the parish church yard. To each light in the church 12d. To each of my godsons 4d. Residue to Katherine my wife whom I make executrice that she may dispose for the health of my soul, and I wish Richard Wodward to be supervisor. (Latin)
Last will: of all my landes in the parishe of Willisberrough, Greate Charte and Kyngesnoth. Fyrst I will Richard my sonne shalhave the place edified in the parisshe of Willesborough withall lands therto belonging. To Harry my sonne all my lands in parish of Charte aforsed after decease of Kateryn my wyff. To Edward my sonne at the day of his mariage 10 marks. To John my sonne my place that I due dwell in in the parisshe of Kyngesnoth to entre after the decease of Kateryne my wyff. To Joane my doughter when she is maried in pens and penyworth 10 marcs. To Benet Bretts 5 mrks. To Elizabeth her suster 5 marke. To Alys Whitlak 40s.
Wytnessith Sir Cristofer Barlowe parisshe prest of Walsyngham*, Jamys Dry of the seid towne and John Seybrond of the parisshe of Heth in Kent and other.
Proved 3 July 1514 by Katherine relict and executrix. (P.C.C. 2 Holder)
* He may possibly have been on pilgrimage to Walsingham at the time with John Seybrond of Hythe.
