THOMAS FOSTER of Iden in the
diocese of Chichester, 21 September 1543. To be buried in the parish
church of Alhallowes of Iden in the ally before the highe Roode.
All my catall &e I have belonging to housbondry to be praised be six
or four men wt in this parrishe and my executor to sell.
Residue part to Johan my wiffe and to be divided between Goddarde,
Thomas and William my sonnes.
To Roger Foster my sarvaunt my cote next the best and to John Pratte my
third cote and a couple of kyne of the meane sorte.
To Thomas Foster my cousin a two yering heyfer.
Goddarde my son executor. Witness: Sr. Rauf Bradley, priste, and James
Fletcher.
Last will: 22 September 35 Henry VIII of my landes in Iden and a
messuage called Gyetts in the parish of Stone in Kent and a certeyn
Brewhous wt a gardyne in Appledore in Kent, late James Chesemans now
deceased.
To Goddarde my sonne my principal tenement called Dorndale I boughte of
Anthony Rous of Denyngton in Suffolke esquier and also the houses and
grounds adjoyning to the tenement of Dourdale aforesaide paying to John
my wyfe £3. 6. 8. yerely. In default of issue to Thomas my sonne and in
default to William my sonne. To Thomas my sonne my parte of my tenement
in Stone and all my parte of the brewehowse wt the gardyns wt all the
howsing.
To Johan my wiffe my mesuage I bought of Thomas Blake and pece of land I
purchased of Anthony Rouse beyng next the land purchase of Thomas Blake
and the pece of land cauled the Robertes and the four peces I purchased
of Anthony Rows to remayne to John and Edwarde my sonnes. Witness: Sr.
Rauff Bradley priste and James Fletcher.
