EDMONDE ROBYN of Apuldore, yoman, 3 February 24 Henry VIII. To be buried in the churche of Saint Peter of Apuldore. To the torche light 6s. 8d. To the roode light 6s. 8d. [Bequests for masses of requiem &e.]
To reparacion of the said church of Apuldore £5. To the reparacion of the church of Fairfeld £5 and to our Lady light in the same church of Faurfeld 6s. 8d. To reparacion of the church of Snargate £5.
To Johan my wife my houshold stuff.
To Parnell Horseley 40s. in ware or mony. To John Watson oon kowe. Johan doughter of Symon Tolkyn 3s. 4d. To Richard Tolkyn tenne ewes and twoo Kyne and if he die to his father and if he die then to Nicholas Tolkyn. To Agnes Houchen 20 marcs at hir age or mariage. To the mariages of 20 poore yonge men and women which shall be married in the parish churches of Apuldore, Fairfeld, Snargate and Brockland euery cople of them so to be maried together 6s. 8d., of which six shalbe in the church of Apuldore. Residue to Johan my wife and executrix. Master John Hales oon of the Barons of the Kings execquier, William Marshe of Olde Romeney and Stephen Thornehurst of Brokland overseers. The said William and Stephen shall pay yearly 10s. euery Friday in the Lent to the poore enhabitaunts wt in the paroche of Apuldore in evin porcions oon peny loof of breade or otherwise twoo loafes for a peny and fyve white herings.
Last will of all my landes &e in Apuldore, Fairfeld, Ivechurch, Brensett, Snargate and Brokland in the which William Knell, John Tolkyn, Symon Maye and Stephyn Thorneherst be enfoeffed.
My wif Johan to have and enjoy, she to pay Sir Richard Raye preest for their lives for foure masses and oon dirige in the parish church of Apuldore and also to sing in the quere there the Sonday of holy daies for the maintenaunce of Goddes service £6. 13. 4. at four usuall termes. After he disceas John Robyn of Ivechurch my cousin all thoose lands &e in Ivechurch which discended or cam to me by right of inheritauns after the death of John Robyn my Father.
My cousin Henry Robyn of Brokeland my land there except lands given to Agnes Houche.
After decease of Johan my wif my mansion place wich I now dwell in and all lands in the towne and paroche of Apuldore wich I lately purchased of William Pettod and the heires of Combe and Shore to remain to Agnes Houcher and in default of heirs to be sold, one half to reparation of Church of Apuldore and other in reparation of noyous waies betwixt the comon callid Apuldore hethe and the Guthous in Apuldore.
Witnesses: William Knelle, Richard Broughton, Edwarde Godfrey, Morgan Walshe, Jamys Barres, Laurence Smyth and Stephyn Thornherst.
