THOMAS HARLAKYNDEN of
Woodchurch next vnto Apuldor esquier 13 January 1557. To be buryed fast
besyde my late wif Elizabethe in the chauncell of All Hallowes in
Woodchurch. At my buriall in dirygs, masses &e £10. An honest prest
to sing by the space of 3 yeres for my soule, Elizabeth late my wif, the
soules of Roger and Margarett my father and mother and the soules of
William and Elizabeth, the said prest to have yerely 5 marks out of
lands that Morley nowe occupyeth of Mylees and the prest to have all his
meate and drynck wyth my wif.
To euery man and woman seruaunt 20s. To John Wolf 2 Kyne. To Philip if
he be then in my servyce 2 Kyne. To my wif 4 geldings. To Martyn and
Fraunces all my wering apparell and to either £20. To Elizabeth Overy
at her mariage 40s.
Margaret my wif my sole executrix.
Witnes: Simon Gason, Philipp Rawlyne John Gyrdler, clerk.
This ys the last will &e of all my manors, landes &e. My wif
Margarett to inoye all her joynter during her lif wt out interrupcon of
George, Marten and Fraunces my sonnes wt all the landes in Wodchurch wch
sometyme were Roger Pellands.
I will John Wolf my olde seruaunt shall enjoye the howse he nowe
dwelleth in wyt a feld lying to the landes of Henry Clerke gentilman
east and south and to the Kings high strete north and west. And if he
be interrupted by George, Marten and Fraunces my sonnes then he to have
my howse, gardyn &e and 2 feldes lying at the nether ende of the
common or grene called the Menesse somtyme purchased of Nicholas
.
I will my brother Alexander during his lif have out of all my purchased
lands in Woodchurch £6. 13. 4. annuitie.
I will Martyn Harlakynden shalhave my ferme and the ferme howse and 2
litle howses at Smaled in the parish of Tenterden and Witrisham late
purchased of John Brikynden gentilman and also after my wiffs decease
the saied Martyn to have all my other landes and tenements in the parish
of Tenterden and thre tenements in the parish of Apuldore.
Frauncis my sonne my manor and tenements of Bebehach in parish of
Chartham to have and to hold the saied Maner of Bonehache (sic) to his
and his heirs.
All other lands to George my sonne and in defaulte to remayn to Martyn
my sonne and in defaulte to Frauncis Harlacynden.
I will as shortely after my deceasse as yt can be an honest prest hyred
to sing for my soule Elizabeth and Margarett soules, Roger and Margarett,
Roger, Thomas, Letyce, Kateryn, William and Alice soules and all xpen
soules by the space of three yeres and to have euery yere £3. 6. 8. and
to have his meate and drynke of myn executor.
