WILLIAM FRYTH dwelling in Lye [in Essex] 23 December 1527. To be buried in the church yarde of Lye. To my suster Edmond Rayner wife 10s. My godfather Fryth a noble. My Kyn-
nesman Stevyn Cowper 3s. 4d. Also my tenement and londes in Assheford [Ashford] or in any other place my father did geve me by his will, I will that my mother shalhave the thirde parte or ells hir dwelling in the newe howse that my father in lawe and my mother made.
Residue of my forsaid tenement and londes I give my cosyn John Cowper, yoman of the Crowne of foresaid Lye in Essex. I will Thomas Brett of Charte in Kent to be ouerseer.
Witness: Roger Dewerd of Pakeham and John Boucre of Estwoode, James Colynde
of Preterwell.
