JOHN REIGNOLDE of Leedes, 14
December 1492. To be buried in the churchyard of St. Nicholas of Leedes.
To the light of the Holy Cross 20d., of B. Mary the Virgin 16d., St.
James 12d., St. Nicholas 12d., St. Cristofer 16d., B. Mary of Pitee 16d.
The lights of St. Blasé and St. Michael there 12d., of St. Erasmus and
"Sancti" dominice there 16d. (?St. Sunday or Dominica or
dominic?). The light of B. Mary Magdalen 4d. To reparation of the bells
of the said church 20s. Residue to Johan my wife and executrix.
Proved 8 January 1492 by Robert Lambe and Thomas Reygnold and
administration granted to Joan relict. (21 Dogett P.C.C.)
Last will of John Reignold made and rehersed personally to John Rogers
of Sutton Valence, gentyliman, Robert Lambe, Willyam Colyn and John
Vincent my feoffes of my lands in the parish of Ledys. They to suffre
Johanne my wyf to take all thyssewes &e. unto the tyme that William
my sonne comyth to thage of 22 yerys paying £15 to Dame Parnell late
the wyf of John Rogers for the which I and Rogers Mores stonde bounde
and when 22 Wyllyam my sonne to take all thyssews and when 30 yeres my
foeffees to make a state to him. If he die then to Margaret my doughter
and if she die to the next heyres males.
And my said feoffees to see that Johanne my wyf have and occupy the Est
syde of my princypall mesuage which I now dwell in wt free going and
comyng unto the hall at all seasons.
After my decesse to sell a pece of londe being in Herbysfyld I purchased
of Henry Joye to pay my dettys.
My wyf to make deliverance unto Wyllyam my sonne whanne he comyth to the
age of 22 of 30 shepe, 4 oxen, 3 horses and 2 Kene.
To Margaret my doughtur in the feast of Saint Myghell two of my best
shepe and the same shepe be receyved by my bretherne Robert Raynold and
Thomas Reynold and they to put theym in to the ferme of Castelton for
the behoof of my saide daughter vnto the tyme she be maryed.
My feoffees to deliver a state vnto Thomas Reynold my brothur of and in
two pecs of londe lying in the paryshe of Ledes at a place called
Oddemellistrete. I wyll that John a Capping, John Vincent, William
Collyn and Wyllyam Crompe the yonger the which stonde seased of and in a
mesuage and pecys of londe lying in the parish of Ledys make astate vnto
Thomas Reynold my brother of the fourth parte of the sayde messuage and
9 pecs of lond the which discended vnto me and my thre bretherne aftyr
the decease of my brothur Bartylmew Reynold, he to pay my wyf £10 and
