21 April 1542. I James Noresse. To be buryed in the churcheyard of Cranebroke to the whiche churche I bequeth 6s. 8d. by the handes of Richard Tailor thelder and to bestowe for my buriall and mounethes mynde 20s., and for the discharge of the same I will hym to receve of Sr. Brabande 18s. 10d. and of Thomas Dye of Cranebroke 22s. To the porest of Mylkehowse 13s. 4d.
To Richard Taylor thelder 20s. My beste cote wt sworde veluet nighte capp and best blacke hoose to Richard Taylor, my other blacke hoose to greate George and my best frees cote to Martynne and my dublet and best shurte to his wife. My olde frees cote to Bykes, my books and spurres to Anthony, my best dagger to Wright. My howse and tenement in Grewell in the parish of Odyham in Southampton to be soulde by John Ranger thelder and John Reading of Grewell, whome I make my executours, to James Chapman of the same parrishe for £13. 6. 8.
Also my executours shall receve of Thomas Chapman of Grewell £4 I lent hym at my laste being in Hampshire and thereof I bequeth to the chapell of Grewell 6s. 8d. to the parish church of Odyham 6s. 8d. and 6s. 8d. to the porest of Sutton, the porest of Sowthwanborough, of Vpton, of Maperderwell, of Nateley and of Newman parrishe [other bequests to persons apparently of Grewell].
To Richarde Frebment my beste loome wt the beste wheles, warsynbare and Skarbanker.
To the mayntenance of the highe way from Grenested Lanes ende to West Crosse 10s.
Witnes, Sr. John Long, Martyn Colym, priste, Wm. Volle, Thos. Dye, Richd. Haselgrove.
