The last of Marche 1538 (29 H. VIII) Richard Barre of the parishe of Cranebroke, clothier. To be buried in cristen buriall where yt shall please God that I shall dye. To high aulter of Cranebroke 10s. At my out burying in masses, diriges and other works of charitie £10. At my moneths mynde other £10, at my yeres mynde other £10. To 60 poor householders in the parish of Cranebroke £10. To 60 por maydens mariage £20.
To Walter Taillour sonne of Richard Taillour thelder of Cranebroke 40s. To Richard Taillour sonne of aforesaid Richard Taillour thelder £5. To Gervys Taillour another sonne £5. To euery of my servaunts that shall happen to dwell wt me at the tyme of my decease 20s.
To my syster Margery £4. To eueryone of my (sic) daughters of Henry Barre 20s. Vnto one cosen Johane dwelling in Cranebroke 20s. To her suster dwelling in Gravesende 20s. To John Barrowe gentilman £5. To euery of the twoo doughters of the said John Barrowe 40s.
To the chapell and aulter of Sainte John Baptist in the parishe churche of Cranebroke £5. To the chapul and aulter of Sainte Katherine the virgyn and martyr in the same churche 40s.
To poore people and poor maydens mariages of six parrishes, Southerst, Horsemonden, Merden, Stapleherst, Fretynden and Hawkherst to either £4.
To parish church of Towceter in Northampton shire where I receynid my baptisme a vestment of 40s. and a challice of £3. To the parish church of Saint Mary Magdalene of Stone in Stratford for the brotherod preest to singe masse a vestment of 20s.
To the house of White Freers in Lossingham in Kent £3. To house of Grey Freirs in Citie of Caunterbury 40s. To parish church of Sain t Gyles of Stone in Strafforde for the brotherod preeste to singe in masses a vestment of 20s.
To thamending of the Kinges high wayes betwene thupper end of the Towne of Lamberherst and the dwelling house of Thos. Kypping where as mooste nede shalbe seen £5.
To Mary daughter of Maistre John Baker the Kings Attourney £20 at her mariage. To Stephyn Raines the sonne of John Raines of London £5. Residewe to Katherine my wife to doo and dispose for the helth of my soule and she to be executor with John Barrow, and Maister John Baker ouerseer.
