In the year 1517 I John
Blubery, yoman of the Kings Armury. To be buried in Austen Freres,
London.
Vnto my parishe church at Cranbroke 4s. To parisshe church of Cranbroke
a white cote of Satyn to make a vestment of to Saint Johns aulter. A
taper of 4 pounds to be kept before our Lady of Pitie in the said
parisshe.
I will a remenaunt of grene velwet to make the Trinitie a Cote orells my
cote of yelowe and grene damask at disposicion of my wife and this to
the trinitie in the Myllhowse [Milkhouse].
To Jone Morys my doughter two Kyne at her mariage. To Johane my wife all
my plate, cuppes, salts, masers and sponys.
To John Sharp my godsonne 6s. 8d. To Petyr Lynch my godsonne 12d.
The chief mansion place of my lond to my wife during hir life and then
to the childe of my doughter yf it be a man childe that she goeth wt all
and if it be not a man child that then this my chief place and residue
of my lands at the disposicion of William Lynche to founde a frescole
howse for all the pour children of the towne of Cranbroke aforesaid
after the decesse of my wife, and the scole maister to be chosyn and
admitted by the said William Lynche.*
My wife executrix and William Lynch and Richard Taillor ouerseers.
Witness: Sir Rauf Chaluer preest, John Smyth, bruer and Thomas Pynkey,
skynner of London.
