ELIZABETH FISSHER, of
Maidstone, widowe, 10 May 1526. To be buried in the churche of Saint
Feith next to my husband and my body to be chested. To reparation of
church of Alhalowen 6s. 8d. and of Saint Feith 20s. To light of our lady
wt in the same church to be made out of newe wax 6s. 8d. At my burying
to prests, clerks and poor people £3. 6. 8. A prest to singe at Saint
Faith oon hole yere £7. An obit at Saint Feithes 10 yeres euery yere
13s. 4d.
To Thomas Woodyer my seruaunt a fetherbed &e. To Richard Magnesden
my seruaunt 5 quarters of whete and 5 of barley. To John Fissher thelder
all the hangings in the hall &e and my great flatt pecs of siluer, a
salte of siluer wt a couer parcell gilte, 6 sponys of siluer of the best
sorte and 3 spones of the smalist sorte and my gretist maser.
To Robert Fissher my Nutt wt a cover. To William Fissher my standing
cupp of siluer wt a couer &e. To John Fissher the yonger a salt of
siluer wtout a couer, a paire of beads of exilliard, gauded wt siluer
and gilt, a paire of bedes of corall gaudid wt siluer which sumtyme was
my brothers mothers.
Residue to John Fissher thelder, Robert F., William F., and John f. the
yonger my sonnes. Executors: John F. thelder and Robert f. and William
F. and John F. the yonger ouerseers.
Witness: Richard Frenche and Sir Thos. Soule, prest at the College or
church of Maidston my goostly father.
Last will: (same date) John Fissher my eldest sonne all suche londs
&e which late were my fathers John Freers and also all landes &e
which were Thomas Geoues and a pece of lande called Bechers and Slyes wt
a barne, in parishes of Maidston and Dytton, yelding yerely to his
brother Robert F. 26s. 8d. In default to remain to said Robert F. and in
default to William F. my 3rd son and then to John F. my
fourth son.
To Robert F. a mesuage agenst my house which sumtyme was John Wells and
a garden wt a hogstye in the same and a mesuage in the strete called
Wykestrete sumtyme oon Cristmas dwelled in nowe called the Berehouse
with two gardyns and a pece of londe called Fletchers cofte and a barne
called Fletchers barne, as apperith by a dede made to same Robert and
Mawde his wife and all other things in the same dede and all other
landes and tenements in Aylesforde.
To William F. my third sonne my mesuage at Berte and all the landes and
woodes called Berte whiche were Nortons which my husband lately
purchased of Julyan Norton and Margaret hir doughter. Also a pece of
londe called litill Ventalls my husbonde lately purchased of the heirs
of Thos. Atwood.
To John F. my 4th sonne my manor of Horspull wt londes and
rents in Detling and also my mesuage &e longing to the same whiche
sumtyme was Richard Dores and londs which were Merywethers in parish of
Boxley and all londes lying at Coptre in parishes of Boxley and Alyngton,
sumtyme were Smartmans, Asshebego, Warrelles, Bukmers. To my sonne
William F. a mesuage wt a garden in Wykestrete and 2 peces of land oon
is called Carterscrofte oon acre and a half and the other is called
Saint Mary Crofte 5 acres. I lately purchased of my cosyn Thos. Freers
doughter. Also my mesuage in the high strete where now Richard Humfrey
dwellith in sumtyme oon Raptegus.
To John F. the yonger a tenement in Wykestrete sumtyme was Gullys with a
gardyn and a barne and a tenement in Wykestrete sumtyme was Farhaus with
a gardyn. To Robert F. 2 houses in Wykestrete next unto the house
sumtyme was Newells.
To Thomas Woodyer my seruant an house in Tylers lane sumtyme Thos.
Standerd dwelled in terme of his life and to remayn to John Fissher
thelder.
[Each brother is made others heir throughout "as in my husbonds
will"].
