WILLIAM FYSSHER of Maydeston
[Maidstone], thelder, gent. 20 October 1506. To be buryed within the
chirche of Saint Feythe the Virgyn in Maydeston ayenst the sete that I
sytt in. To the Rodelyge 2s. To the brotherhed of Corpus Xpi 6s. 8d. To
reparation of the churche of Alhalowen 5s. To reparacions of Seint
Feythys chirche 6s. 8d. To lyght of our Lady in Seynt Feythys chirch
20d.Residue to Elizabeth my wyffe and executrice.
Last will: 20 October 24 Henry VIII. John Fyssher my eldest sonne, after
decease of me and Elizabeth my wyff doughter and heyre of John Frere and
Alice his wyff, shall have all suche londs whiche late wer John Frers
and all suche londs and tenements whiche wer Thomas Bronys and a pece of
lond called Boches and Slyers with a barne to the same in parishes of
Maydeston and Dytton [Ditton], yelding yerely to his brother Robert
Fyssher 26s. 8d. If John die then to Robert and if he die then to
William Fyssher my thirde sonne and if he dye then to John Fyssher my
fourth sonne and if he dye then to Richard Fyssher my fyft sonne.
To Robert F. my secunde sonne a mesuage ayenst my house whiche sometyme
was John Newells and a garden wt the hogsty in the lane and a mesuage
lying in the strete called Wykestrete sumtyme one Cristemas dwelles in
now called the Berehouse wt 2 gardeyus lying to the same and a pece of
land called Fletchers Croft and a barne called Fletcher barne, as
appereth by a dede made to the said Robert and Mawde his wyff and all
the londs and tenements in Ailesford. [remainder in default as before].
To William F. my thirde sonne my mesuage at Barte wt all the londs
longyng to the same and all those londs &e called Barty which were
Nortons which late I purchased of Julian Norton and Margaret hir
doughter and a pece of lond called Litill Ventalles late purchased of
the heires of Thomas Atwodd.
To John F. my 4th sonne my maner of Horpull wt all the londs
rents &e in Detlyng [Detling], also my mesuage sumtyme was Richard
Dorys and such londs, whiche wer Meryweders lying in the parisshe of
Boxle and londs and tenements lying at Coptre in parishe of Boxley and
Alyngton sumtyme were Smartmans, Asshebeys, Worrallys and Bucmerry
yeldyng yerely to Richard F. his brother 26s. 8d. To seid Richard F. a
pece of lond called Barnyston a tenement whiche was Farrams, a tenement
which was Gulleys, a tenement which Egremond dwelled in.
Probate is not filled in – the next will was proved 28 May 1516. (P.C.C.
