JONE (Joan) HARRENDEN of Maydeston
[Maidstone] in Kent wedow 16 Aprill 1515. To be buried in the
churchyarde of Allhalowes afore our Lady ther and besyde Philippe Kyng
late my husband. To reparation of the church 13s. 4d. To mayntenaunce of
the brotherhed of Corpus Xpi 6s. 8d. To mayntenaunce of the torches and
other lights in the church of Stapulherst [Staplehurst] 10s. To
reparation of the parishe church of Bowghton vnder the bleam 33s. 4d. To
friers of Alisford 2 qarters of malte. To the chapell of Saint John
Bapte in Maydestone a quarter of malt.
To my sonne Dome Thomas Asshe, monk of Criste church in Canterbury, the
bedding of my parlure of the house wherin I dwell which parlure
adjoinith vnto Lyllis, hole as it stondith. To the same Dome Thomas a
chafing dishe, ewer and bason, cople of latyn candellstykes &e and a
maser of syluer and gylt. To Rychard Norwood my servaunt 5 marc.
To reparation of the greate brigge of Maydeston 13s. 4d. To Agnes Broke
my vyolett kyrtell. To Agnes Kyng wyff of Wyllyam Kyng my long trayne
vyolett gowne. To the wyff of Thomas Davy of Maydeston, baker, a
petycote. To Agnes Tomesy my goddoughter, maryed at Loose, a musterd
wylles gowne furryd with blake. To Alice Sylvester late my servaunt a
gowne of murre a payer of bedis of blake gett gawded with syluer. To
Margery wyff of William Lynley half a dozen of syluer sponys without
knoppis.
To Myldrede wyff of John Phylyp a lytle payer of small corall bedis. To
Wyllyam Harrynden my sonne in lawe 10 marc when he comythout of his
prentyship and yf he decease then to Jone Harrenden doughter of Rychard
Harrenden to her mariage. I bequeth to remayne to the house where I
dwell the hangings in both the halls, also in the lytle parlure and the
chamber above with 3 beddis, all the hangyngs and all the cupbourdis and
tables. To Willyam Merchaunt my servaunt 6s. 8d. To Agnes Swynham the
suster of Rychard Swynham oon quarter of barley malt.
To the wyff of Thomas Fordeman my skarlett kyrtell. To my cosyn Mawde
Sharpe my rede corrall bedys with the greate knoppe. A preest to syng
half a yere in parish church of Maidestone and half a yere in the church
of Saint Faythes. To Elyn Redman my vyolett hoode. To reparacion of
church of Saint Fayth 6s. 8d.
Last Will: My feoffes and executors to sell my house with the
appurtenances called the Corner house besydis the bere stake and they to
pay as folowing:- To Agnes wyff of Rychard Swynham 10 marc, and Resydue
of the mony comyng of the same Corner House top my sonne Dane Thomas
Asshe oon of the monkes of Criste Church of Canterbury. My feoffes shall
enfeoffe Wyllyam Kyng of and in the house behyude the Sayle.
I will Margery Kyng have to hir mariage household stuff to valewe of 5
mrc. To Agnes Swynham the yonger to the value of 20s. To Rycharde
Harrenden a goblett of syluer. To Agnes Sawer my best petycote. To Agnes
Swynham the wyff of Richard S. the worst maser and a playne pece the
worst of iii. To Edwarde my seruaunt 6 syluer sponys the worst that I
have.
To my son John Harrenden a payer of white amber beedis. To Agnes Kyng a
harnest gyrdell of vyolett. To Agnes Swynham wyff of Rychard S. a reed
guryrdell. My feoffes to make a state to Edwarde Smyth my seruaunt of a
certeyn parcell of londe lying in the ende of Est Lane wich Andrewe
Tylden now hireth. To John Fyssher the Elder and Robert Fyssher 20s.
Resydue unto the handis of John Norwood and Rychard Hele executors to
pay detts and for welth of my soule &e.

thelder, Wyllyam Kyng, John Fysher thelder, Robert Fysher, Edwarde
Smyth, Mawde Sharpe, Agnes Fordman, Agnes Swynham and Agnes Sawer.
