THOMAS AFORDE of Maydestone [Maidstone], 1 September 1508. To be buried in the churchyarde of the Paryshe churche of All Halowen in Maydestone beside my fader and moder.
To Elizabeth Wodewarde my seruaunt 10s. To Elizabeth Harold my s’vant 26s. 8d. To either of my goodchildren lyving 4d. To Agnes Haster my doughter my thirde best bed, my pease of silver which was my fathers. To the Friers of Aleforde a quarter of whete and malte. Residue to Agnes my wyf, executrice, and Robert Darkinolde gentilman ouerseer.
Last will 24 Henry VIII. My lands &e in parish and towne of Maideston. My feoffes shall enfeoffe Agnes my wif of and in a baron [?barn] in Puddyng Lane late Richard Chalkyls and shall suffer her to have the Place callede the Sterre set and being in the town of Maideston and also myn other barne sett in Pudding Lane which sumtyme was Mr. Broketts, a peace of land lying beside Grete Buckeland callede Buklonde Felde and all my other landis lying in Farnt felde and in the boroughe of Westre wt in the shire of Kent, except 9 acres I bought of Thomas Dybdale the which to be solde to performaunce of this my last well, and 3 acres I bought of Robert Raynolde lying in Frontfelde next vnto the said landis late Dybdales which I will be solden. After decesse of said Agnes my wyf the said feoffes shall suffre Agnes Haster the wyf of John Haster to have all the saide lands and tenements.
