ROGER TYLDEN of the towne of
Maideston [Maidstone], last of Marche 1502. To be buried in the
churchyard of Alhalowen in Maideston. To the lady light 12d. To Ihus
Masse 3s. 4d. To fraternytie of Corpus Xpi 12d. To light of Seynt John
3s. 4d., of Seynt George 4d. To reparacion of Seynt Feythe church 12d.
and of the gretebridge 3s. 4d. To the Roode light 12d. To the prior and
convent of Ledys my grete brasse pott.
To Johane Rede 5 mark to hir mariage and if she decesse then to Agnes my
wif. To Alice my wiffs doughter 6s. 8d. To Johane my wifes doughter 6s.
8d.
To Agnes my wife hir owne instuffe to doo her best and all my instuff
for terme of hir lif, 2 gownes clothes of the best cloth in my shoppe.
To Sr. Robert Ward my gostly fader 12d. To 2 parishe clerks 6s. 8d. To
Julyan Cristmas the doughter of Thomas Cristmas of Okysbrige 6s. 8d. and
2 yerds of my secunde redde for hir a kyrtell and half a cote cloth of
violett of 2 yerds and a half. To my suster in law 2 yerds of violett
for a kyrtell.
To William Tylden my broder son a gowne cloth of violet of foure yerds.
To Thomas Baker a hose cloth of fyn tawny. To William Ellysdale 6s. 8d.,
Robert Chalkehill a hose cloth of the best. Residue I bequeth to Andrew
Chalkhill 6s. 8d., Edward Chalkhill 6s. 8d., to Agnes my wif all my
pledgys.
My two executors Richard Hely and John Hoker and Agnes my wife. Witness:
Sr. Robert Ward then parisshe preest, Andrew Tylden and Richard
Chalkehill.
Last Will: of my mesuage and garden in Wikestrete in Maideston in which
Thos. Baker, Richard Hely and Richard Weston arn feffed and seased.
Agnes my wife to take profitts terme of hir lif and after her decesse
only feoffes shall sell and dispose for my soule &e. My mesuage and
garden in the Podynglane I bought of John Masse, if he will pay 5 marks
and 10s. in the fest of Ester next my feoffes shall deliuer to the said
John Masse a state in the said mesuage.
