2 Oct 1540. John Thompson of West Farley (Farleigh).
To be buryed in the churche yarde of Alhalowes in Weste Farley and at my
burieng to poore people in bread and ale and chese 5s and to ten
poore people within the parrishe 3/4.
I doo forgyve Thos Copping my father in lawe all
manner of debits yt is betwixte him and me and allso I bequeth
him a Crowne of Fyve shillings. Unto my mother yerely fyve mrks to be paide
quarterley till £25 be paide (if she lyve so longe) and she doo not the Reste
be devyded emong kynnesfolks and poore people.
Unto my suster Annes Knytt £6.13.4. and my best gowne.
Unto my brother Thos Thompson my beste dublett and
jackett of woorsted.
Unto my godsoon John Thomas a Crowne of fyve shillings. Unto
Nicholas Thompson 10s. John Thompson 13/4. Unto Gye Thompson 13/4.
Alice Thompson 10s. (Relationship not given). Wm
Phillipp 13/4. Richarde Phillipp 13/4. Reste emong my kynnesfolke.
Thos Arnoulde of Loose extor and to have thre Anngell
nobles and Wm Bennett mason dwelling in Southwerke overseer.
This is: of my tenemente and all my lands therto in the parrishe
of West Farley. I will my brother Thos Thompson shall have yt after
the deathe of my mother during his lief and after unto his soon my godsonne Wm
Thompson in fee symple. If he dye withowte heires then remayne unto my brother
Thomas Thompson.
Witnesses Sir Thos Emery, Wm Tayler, John
Pococke and Thos Coppyng with oother moe.
Probate 8 Nov. 1544 and com to Thomas Arnoulde exor and Thos
Emery clien. Thos Copping and Wm Tailor.
