20. Dyngeley
1538, 2 Sept. Robert Rowe, Merchannt Taillour of
London and Citezen of London. To be buryed in the parishe churche of Alhalowes
in Bredstrete of London in the dioc. of Cannterbury.
Extours Anne Rowe my wife, Edward Weldon, gent, oon of the Clerks
of the Grene cloth of the Kings house and Thos Rowe of Kent,
gentilman and thoverseer Thos Rowe my eldest sonne. And to have for
their labours and busynes 20s and a blak gown and their wifes the
price of a yarde viijs.
To the blissed sacrament in the parishe of Alhalowes for tithes
etc. 10s. To the repacon of the parishe churche of Lye (Leigh?) in
Kent where I was xtenyd in a cope and a vestment with all that longith therto
and tenne pounds towards the repacions of the said churche to be bestowed when
the Steple shalbe fully buylded and yf not at the discretion of myn extours
and a herse cloth of blak woursted garnyshed and frenged with silk and the
said cloth for to be free as well to poure people as to riche also.
To my suster Nicolson a blak gowne. To my suster Weldon £20. (To
prisoners in London prisons 10s in vitaill
and to poor housholders in London and subbarbs £20 to be distributed at
discrecion of exors).
To the making of high wayes in Kent orells where £10.
All my goodes and detts in thre parts of the which I geve one
thirde parte to Anne Rowe my wife thother thrde parte to my childern egally to
be devided and yf any fortune to dye within thage of 21 yeres of the women
childern before they be marid then his or her parte so deceasing remayn to my
childern surviving. And if all dye as God defende then to the children of
Edward Weldon and his wife which is my suster.
Probate 9 Sept 1538 by exors.
