1526, 2 Jan. Wiliam Olyver of Falke in the parishe
of Seele (Seal) in Kent, the elder, yoman.
To be buried in the churchyarde of the parishe churche of Seele.
To Cathedral Churche of Rochester 12d. To repacions of the churche
of Seele 6/8. At my burying in masses syngyng and in almes to pour people 40s
and at my monethes day.
To Wm Olyver my son thre score wether shepe price of
every shepe xijd. Residue of all my shepe to Thos Olyver
my sonne and also my wayne, plowgh, and all the harnes to theym belongyng.
Residue of all my goodes to Elyanor my wife executrice and Thos my
sonne exor and George Olyver overseer. This is: of my londes and tenements.
I will Elyanor my wife shalhave a litill house in Seele Strete
called the Forge and the gardyn longyng therunto and also the pastoryng of two
kyne both in wynter tyme and the somer tyme in certeyn lande called Dynes
duryng hir lif if she as long kepe her self widow orells not. Item: I will the
same Elianor have the occupacon of my house at Falk that I dwell in and of the
gardyn plotts that longe therunto unto the feast of thannuceacon of our lady
next comyng and free libertie of going and comyng into the same untill the
feast of the nativitie of Saint John Baptist nowe next comyng for the having
them such cornys and shiffeas I have gevyn to hir.
I will Thos Olyver my sonne have all my lands and
tenements lying on the south parte on the foot pathway in Seele leading from
Goddon to hall crosse and from the high way leding from Hall crosse to
Swoonestrete and also my londes in the parishe of Lygh and a shopp in the
market place at Senook immediately aftre my decesse. To him and his heires
paying the said Eleanor my wife 40s yerely and to deliver to her
sufficient loods of wode at the said tenement in Seele and if she mary then
she to have nother money nor wodes.
I will Wm Olyver my sonne have all my other londes and
tenements in Seel lying on the north parte of the forsaid bounds and also my
londe in Kemsyng and Tunbrigge immediately after my decease to him and his
heires paying to the said Elianor other 40s and to deliver to the
said Elianor oon sufficient lood of heye at the said tenement in Seel and if
she mary then she to have nother money nor heye. William to release all title
in the londes etc.
I have bequethid unto Thomas and Thomas to release to Wm. Wit.
John Tebolde of Seel, Wm Denman, John Olyver, Richard French and Wm
Thomlyn.
