38. Bodfelde

Richard Brode of Lamherst (Lamberhurst). To be buried in suche next halowed place as it shall please almighty God that I shall departe this worlde. To high awter of Lambherst 12d.
   To every of my doughters a mattras, paire of shets, etc. 
   I will that Agnes my wife shalhave all my goodes etc. and residue of all my goodes and Catalls not bequethed, my detts first paid.
   This is: I will that Morgan my sonne after the decesse of Elizabeth my moder have a house, a gardyn and a felde in Cranbroke (Cranbrook) at Plosshingherst. If he dye without heire I will it shall remayne unto Robert my sonne and if he dye unto my doughters and their heires egally to be devided. If they all dye then unto William Brode my brother. And if he dye without heire then I will the churche wardeyns of Cranebroke that for that tyme shalbe doo sell the forsaid house, gardyn and felde and the money therof comyng to bestowe for the repacion of the church or other dedes of charitie for the welth of my soule.
   I will that Agnes my wife after my decesse have my house at Goutherst with a gardyn and a pece of grounde whiche sumtyme was Morgan Smythes terme of hir lyfe and after it shall remayne unto Robert my sonne upon condicion that within two yeres after the decesse of the said Agnes the same Robert doo paye unto every of my doughters 20s. If Robert dye then it shall remayne unto Morgan my sonne and if he dye to my doughters betwene theym and yf all die to Wm my brother and if he dye without heire then to be sold by the churche wardeyns of Goutherst to fynde a prest singyng in the said churche of Goutherst for my soule, my frends soules and all Xten soules.
   On 15 Nov 1525, relict renounced and adm. p. uian intestati to the said relict.
