17 Aug. 1517. John Gartforde of Ealdyng (Yalding).
To be buried in churche yarde of the holy Appostells Petyr and Paule at
Ealding. To our Lady light there 2s.
To the highwaye betwixt my house nd Ealding brigge 12d.
To an honest preest to praye for my soule, my father and mother one half yere
£3.6.8.
To James Gartford ij sterys of 12 monethes and the vauntage.
Residue to Alice my wyfe executrix.
This is: I will my feoffees shall suffer Alice my wyfe to have the
profits of all my londs and tenements till John my sonne come to the age of 23
yeres then I will John my sonne have my house that I dwell in and all the
londs to the said house belonging paying to Alice my wyfe yerely 26/8 as longe
as please God that she shall lyve.
I will Alice my wyfe have the profits of two peces of londe
called Breche and Norisefelde and a Trenche of londe called Gartford till
William my son come to 23 yeres then my feoffees deliver a state in fee simple
to the said Wm.
I will Alice my wyfe have the profits of a Trench of londe called Astyns till
Thomas my sonne come to 23 then my feoffees deliver him a state in fee simple.
I will Alice my wyfe pay unto the mariage of Margarete my
doughter £3.6.8. and to the mariage of Johane my doughter £3.6.8.
If all die then to Alice my wyfe terme of hir lyfe and after her
decesse to Agnes Codde my suster and to hir heires for evermore.
Wit. Gilbert Gartforde, Robert Dawby, Thomas Billyngherst, Thomas
Codde.
