4 July 1509. John Maister of Westerham yoman. To be
buried in the church yard of Westerham. To the light of Or lady of the Pyller
a taper of ijlb of wax. To the light of Seynt Xtofer a taper of oon pound of
wex. To the light of Seynt George a taper of a lb of wex.
To Richard my son a cowe orells 7s for hit at the
eleccon of the same Richard. To Isolde Maister my doughter 8 mrke, the day of
hir mariage 4 marc and within 4 yeres other 4 marc. To Wm Elyott ij moder
shepe. To Johane Skynner a moder shepe.
Residue to Johane my wif and Thomas Maister my son the which
executors and overseer Mr John Potter.
This is: I pray and desire my feoffes that ys to sey Thomas Isley
Esquyer, John Potter gent, Ric Dekon, Wm Chapman of Greynes and
Thomas Maister my son that they suffre Johane my wif to occupye and receyve
the yssues etc. of my house called Doverhams with a croft of lond therto
belongyng terme of hir lif and to remayn to William Maister my son and if the
same Wm decesse without heirs then to remayne to Thomas my son.
I will Johane my wif receyve and take the yssues etc. of my ij
mesuages or cotages called Glovers in Westerham with ij parcells of land
called the Hethes and the Mores bying in Lynnefeld till that Richd
my son be of the age of 22 yeres and then remayn to the said Richard and he to
pay his moder yerely 3/4.
I pray and desire my feoffes that they deliver estate unto Thomas
Maister my son in the tenement in the which I dwell yn called Shods with ij
crofts of lond therto lying called Cape lond and Gayescrofte immediately after
my decesse.
I will the said Thomas Maister suffre Johane my wif to occupye
and take easement in the same tenement by the space of a yere after my decesse.
I pray my feoffes than beying on lyve that they deliver estate
unto Richd my son of and in the said cotages and lond called the
Hethes and the Mores whan he cometh to 22 yeres and to Wm my son
the messuage called Doverhams after the decesse of Johane my wif.
