7 Jan. 1502. William Gartford in the parisshe of Yealdyng. To be buried in the church yerd of Yealdyng. To the high awter 20d to my moder churche 4d. To our lady light vjd. To the repacions of the parisshe churche of Yealdyng 10s. To an honest preest seculer 33/4 for to syng for my sousle, my frends soulis and all Xten soules a quart. To the Freers of Ayleford 3/4.
   To Agnes my wiff the ij of my best kene and the iijde parte of my household stuff and 10s of laufull money. To the reparying of the Kings highe way from the manor of Netilsted to Pultes 6/8. To the reparying of the Kyngs High waye to Rugmer Hille 3/4.
   I make John Garford my sone exec and Wm Dome myn overseer.
   This is: I will John my sone forthwith after my decesse have all my londs and tenements in the parisshe of Yalding and Marden paying to Agnes my doughter X marc therof iijli vjd to be paid the next yere after my decesse and other iijli vjs viijd that day twelfmoneth and if she mariye within the yere then I will the payment begynne the day of hir mariage. If Agnes my wif will relesse 20 marc the which she hath by graunt in the name of hir ioynter than she shall have for terme of her lyff 20s by yere paid of annuyte with clawse of distresse of xx acres of lande named the broke. Also of a tenement callid Hills. Item other ij pecs of lond callid Murrey feld and the Briche. Also a chamber within my manseon place where it shall please her mete and drinke with fyre and flet with free goying and comyng for all the time of hir lyff. Also with keping of ij kynne wight and sond with all the proffit of the seid kyn.
