12. Pynnyng.

1 Aug 1541. 33 H Eight. Dame Elizabeth Peche widdowe sometyme wieff of Sir John Peche of Lullingestone in Kent Knight deceased. To be buryed in the parrishe church of Lullyngeston within the Toombe where the saide Sir John Peche my late husbonde liethe buryed. To the highe aulter of said parishe churche of Lullyngeston 10/-. To the highe aulter of said parishe churche of Eynesforde 10/-. To parishe churche of Shoreham 6/8. I will myne extours cause a Trentall of masses to be saide within the parishe churche of Lullyngeston the daie of my decease if they can gett so manny preestes and if they cannott then the same to be doon as sone after my deceas as it convenyently may bee. One other Trentall in parishe church of Lullyngeston at my monethes mynde. My extours to gyve in deades of Charyty emonges the poore people nexte enhabiting to the parishe of Lullyngeston at my buriall 40s or more to pray for my soule and lykewyse at my mountethes mynde A presste to be founde to praye for my soule my husbonde Sir John Peche, our frends etc by the space of fyve yeres or more.
   I bequeath unto my singular good Lorde the Erle of Southampton Lorde Pryvey seale two gillte Bolls. To George Hartte my godsonne a guylte Cupp with a couver. To every one of my gentlewoman that shall happen to wayte uppon me at the time of my deceas 10/-. To every one of my men servants over and above their wagies 6/8.
   To my suster Agnes Reman a gillt sallt pounsed with a couver, foure gillte gobletts with a couver, seven spones with knoppes, the Bedd that I lye yn holye as it standeth, one oother Bedde in the chamber within the Kings great Chamber, fyve other Fetherbeddes of the meaner sorte, a garnyshe of pewter vessell, all my kytchyn stuffe which I shall leave not bequethed in this my will, seven paire of shetis, foure table clothes if there be so many lefte, the hangyngs in my parlour, three chestes, Foure Cofers such as she will choose, six Cusshyns, two Carpetts, one of them longe and the oother shorte.
   To my suster Agnes Scroope one hangyng of Redd and green Saije which hangyth in the chamber over the Gate and a white silver Goblett. To my suster Dame Margarett Scroope sometyme Irvnne at Barking £5. To Agnes Goldwell wief to James Goldwell a gillt cupp with a Rose in the Toppe of the Couver and a Lyon in the Bottome, thre silver spoones with knoppes, thre playne spones, a plaine silver Goblett, one fetherbed, a cownterpoynt on lytle couver such as my suster Anne shall appoynte, a Bedde of waynscott etc, as it stondethe yn the chamber over the Nurcery, one Brasse pott etc.
   To Elzth Goldwell daughter of the saide Agnes Goldwell a playne goblet of silver and £6.13.4. to her mariage. If she deceas then to her bretherne to fynde them to scoole with. To John Goldwell, sonne of said Agnes 40s and to George her sonne 40s.
   To my neese dame Anne Willestropp a crosse of goulde withe a Ruby and a dyamonde and my twelve Beades of goulde with a Ring of goolde with a litle crosse. To my neese Elizth Kirkely my Ring with a flatt dyamonde. To Elyenor Willestropp, doughter of my saide neese Dame Anne Willestropp my drynkyng Cruse of silver and gillte with two eares and a couver with a skutchion with a pome granarde. To eche one of my mayden servunts 10/-.
   To my Chaplen Sir John Dean person of Lullyngestone to pray for my soule one cupp of silver and gyllte, one white silver goblett, two guylte spoones, two Cusshynnes and a shorte carpett. To John Whytwoode my stewarde my cupp of silver and gillte, a lyon in the Toppe and allso havyng a lyon in the Bottome of the cuppe of silver duble gyllte whiche I have used to lende to be borne before Brydes at their mariagies and the couvering of the same fasshyoned lyke a standing cupp and one of my greatest standerde cofers.
   To my Lady Baker my plate Box of silver. To Mary Baker a paire of long small Beades of Jeat and goolde with an ymage with a stone. To Sir John Garlande preest a Fetherbedde and two of my spoones silver with knoppes. To Maister Robert Johnson two gyllte spones to pray for my soule. To Mystres Page a Goblett withoute a couver. To Alice Sandbache a fetherbedd etc. and 10/-.
   Resydue to myne extours to dispose as they shall thincke expedyient. I make the same Right honorable and my singuler good Lorde the Erle of Southampton, the said Sir John Baker, my suster Anne Redmayne, John Whitwood my steward and Sir John Dean person of Lullyngeston myne extours.

   By this Codicell made 27 May 36 H8 I Dame Elizth Peche widdow will and ordeyn that where I ordeyned the Right Hon Lorde Erle of Southampton and late Lorde Prevey Seale one of myne extours who is now departed to Allmyghty God, whose soule God pardon and bequeathed to the same two gillte Bolls and where allso I gave unto Elienor Willistropp now decased a drynckyng Cruse with two eares etc. and further gave to John Whitwood now decased a Cuppe havyng a lyon the Toppe etc. and unto Alice Sandbach a fetherbedde etc. I wyll and ordeyn that my welbeloved Coosin Sir Anthony Browne Knight one of myne extours in the stedde of the said late Erle and doo gyve him the two gillte Bolls. To Agnes Goldwell one of my white silver Bowles pounced. Unto mystres Page a fetherbed and boulster and by this present Codicell I comfirme all oother my legacies.
