I Henry Heydon knyght 20 Fe 1503 19 H VII [long committal of soul]. If I dye in Norff to be buried in the Cathedrall church of the same shire in the chapell where as my faders body lyeth that is to say agenst the west ende of his grave and if I happe to decesse at London then in the grey freres of London in the chapell of our Lady. [Long bequest re. debts and diriges etc and to various rel. houses in Norwich, Charterhouse in London or at Cambridge and to poor of Brandon and many other places in Norfolk]. In Kent. In Westwikham [West Wickham]  xls. Hese and Kestan [Keston] xls. Gifts to Bakonesthorp and many other places (not in Kent).
   I will that every gentilman that is that be in service with me iij yeres continually next afore my decesse have xxs beside his wages and in like wise every yoman 13/4 and every groom 6/8 to pray for my soule.
   My son John Heydon all stoke of shepe at end of next yere after my decesse.
   My wife to kepe household at Bakonesthorp for a yere [much about Bakonesthorp].
   I will that all my gownes of silke be made in vestments and all the vestments thereof to be made to be disposed and geven to the churches of the townes ther I am lorde of.
    I will my son John have my best chene of gold under this condicon that he shall geve to William my son the Chene of gold that I gave hym.
   William Heydon my sone iij litell bolls all gilt and chased with a ?couer which were Water Inghams.
   Henry my son 3 litell bolls of silver that were Water Inghams. John my son other plate. Katheryn Heydon my doughter 2 lest silver potts.
   My wife chose to hir plate to the value of £120 pce of the unce of the silver plate that is all gilt 4/- and not gilt or pcell gilt 3/4.
   Residue of silver between my 5 dous. by discr. of my wif, Sr. Wm. Boleyn, John Heydon, Robert Fermor and Thos. Langdon.
   I will eche of my doughters Dorothee and Brigett and Anne Quinay have for her rate more than any of
myn other ij doughters.
    All the apparell vestments jowells and books of my chapell be devided on ij parts by Sr. Wm. Boleyn and myn exors and my wif shall chose and have oon parte and John my son the other.
   I will my wif devide and geve all myn Englissh books amongs my children as she shall seine but first she to chose for hirself suche therof as she will have It. I will that my wif have all myn utensilez and stuff of houshold beyng within my ?manor place of West Wickham to hir owne use and all the detts that be owyng in Kent.
   I will John my son have £100 in mony and all my shepe in my feldes of Heydon and Holwode. Wm. my son £50.
   I will the church roof of Brandon be newe ledid at my cost except the Tounshep shall [sic] the costs of all manr of charge therof beside the money that I hve receyved of theym toward the said ledyng. [more gifts to Norwich and places in Norfolk].
   I will myn exors in the discharge of my conscience xli to the exors of oon Selby of Mallyng in Kent for full recompense for the maner of Oxwyk which I purchaced of hym and payed hym therfore but not to the value by my conscience of xli.
   I will my exors. dispose in the ?repcon of high weyes that lede from London to West Wykham as almesse deede for the soule of dame Isabell Galion £6.13.4.
   Myn exors to paye to Popes wif of Mildenale or to hir next heire in discharge of my conscience and not for no right that they have in certeyn londs in Kent but that ther ys evidence to discharge it so that hir said heire relesse all his right theryn beside the money by me paied afore xlli.
   I will Sr.John Paston have my best hors and all resydue of my ridyng horses in my stabull be devided by my brother Boleyn between my wif and John, Wm. and Henry my sonnes. I will Thos. Langdon have for his labor in the makyng and ingrossy of this my last will and testament in redy money v mrc.
   I make Sr. Thos. Lovell Knyght and Sr. Wm. Boleyn Knyght supervisors.
   [other bequests to people in Norfolk].
   Probate not filled in [next will 17 Nov 18. 1504].
