Leonard Davis, Yeoman Farmer. Grain wills come under the jurisdiction of the Deanery of Shoreham and the Arches, but because Davis died in Strood, his will is in the Rochester Courts. There is an Administration Bond of 1735, in the former Court. His will is dated 12th January 1722 (23).
To his eldest son, Leonard, 60 ewes, 30 "modder" sheep and 60 young sheep, one year old. A mare "commonly called the Diamond Mare" and 2 cows.
To daughter Frances Davis, £40, one year after his death, and £20, two or three months after the £40 is paid. Frances also gets 2 cows.
To youngest son, Thomas £100 at 21 years. To daughter Elizabeth Easibb (Izaby ?), 1 cow and 10 ewes.
To "well beloved wife, Mary" his house and all tenements, she is Executor.
Signs with a Mark.

Thomas Mitchell, his father, John is probably the Yeoman Farmer of Allhallows, who died in 1700, there is a will but it does not confirm a connection. This ledger was once in the north aisle, which was demolished in 1815, I presume it is in situ.

John Savage Smith, there is no monument in the churchyard to Mr Smith, only the reference on his wife's monument. In the 1840 Tithes Records he farmed his own 331 acres. In the 1858 Melville's Directory, Mrs Smith is a Farmer.
John Smith, their son, farmed 220 acres, employing 7 men and 3 boys.
