Opinion of William Turner 1 April 1725

I have seen the Grant from the Abbot and Convent of St Albans of the Mannor of Esole made in the 30th yeare of King Henry the 8th wherein it is expressed that there are severall houses and lands, arable meadow and pasture belonging to the said Mannor and therein are also granted the tithes of the said Mannor as well of corne as hay.

I have also seen severall old Leases whereby the house of St Albans is lett by the name of the Mannor house Soe that I am well satisfied that not only the house of St Albans but alsoe considerable quantities of land are belonging to the said Mannor and part of the demesnes of the said Mannor

And that by the Mortgage made of the said Mannor not only the capital house but those lands doe well passe and are a security for the payment of the money thereby secured.

William Turner
1 April 1725.
