Richard Jackson
of Chelsfield dated 14 September 1792
Abstract of the will of Richard Jackson of Fairtrough in
Chelsfield yeoman dated 14 September 1792.
I leave to my son George Jackson £50 to be paid within three
months of my death, and a further £100 to be paid at the end of one year.
To my 3 daughters Elizabeth, Lucy and Sarah Jackson £50 each
at age 25.
To my sons Thomas and Stephen Jackson £100 each at age 21.
To my nephews Bartholomew and Richard Jackson (sons of my
late brother Bartholomew Jackson) £100 each at age 25. If either die, the
other is to be his heir. If both die under age, then their portions are to
be divided among my children equally.
Residue including leases, cattle, crops, husbandry gear etc.
to my wife Sarah to maintain herself and enable her to maintain, bring up
and educate my five younger children before mentioned, and I appoint her
Executrix. At her death, or if she re-marry, my brother James is to act as
Executor in her place.
