Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Margaret & John BOYS  1765/6  St John the Baptist Church, Mersham

The medallion measures 24inch x 22¾inch and is cut in relief on a blue ledger stone 77inch x 44inch at the west end of the Nave.

Here lie the Bodies of John BOYS and Margaret his wife. She died the xviii day of January 1765. Aged LXX Years. He died the XXVI day of January 1767. Aged 88 Years, they left issue three Daughters: Viz: Margaret, Elizabeth & Mary.

Note: John Boys was the son of Thomas Boys and was baptised 10 Sept 1678. He married Margaret JENKINS of Canterbury.
