Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Thomas. LOCK  1705/6  Rochester Cathedral

The medallion is 29inch in diameter and is cut in relief on a blue ledger stone 88inch x 44inch in the Nave.

Arms: Per fesse [azure & or] a pale [counter charged] on the first three falcons, rising, of the [second] for LOCK impaling [gu] three spear heads [ar], a chief ermine for JOHNSON. Crest: A falcon rising [or] in his beak, a padlock, pendant [sa].

P&F.M. Charissimi ac optime de se meriti mariti Tho. LOCK, Gen. Qui relicta posteris honestissimi Nominis memoria 3 Non. Mar An. Ax. Nato 1705/6 Aetatis 42 ab hac Mortati Colluvie in Caelitium consortium evocatus hic placid sub spe beatae resurrectioris obdormit Prudentia Maestissima Conjuux Inscripsit.
