Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Carolus ELSTOB  1721  Canterbury Cathedral

The medallion is 25inch in diamter and is cut in relief on a blue marble ledger stone, 75inch x 43inch in the north west Transept.

Arms: Per pale, gu and vert a fleur de lis ar. for ELSTOB impaling ar, on a fesse engr. Gu. between three martlets sa. as manuy cinquefoils of the first for PAYNE.

Crest: A fleur de lis.

Carolus ELSTOB, S.T.P. Canonicus hujus Ecclesiae obit 19 Novembris An.Dni. 1721, Aetatis 74 et Matilda uxor ejus obit 30 Junii An. 1739 Aetat 81. Hoc tumulo condiuntur.
