Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Frances HOLCOMBE 1745  Canterbury Cathedral

The medallion measures 25inch x 23½inch and is cut in relief on a blue ledger stone 84inch x 32inch in the south Transept.

Arms: Az. a chevron arg. betw. three mens’ heads, side-faced couped at the shoulders or, wreathed about the temples arg. for HOLCOMBE impaling on a chevron three covered cups betw. three sheaves of arrows conjoined in the centre.

Motto: Vis Comita Fortior

Frances the Wife of Dr HOLCOMBE Prebendary of this Church died on the thirtieth day of March A.D. 1745. Samuel Holcombe 1761.
