Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

John [CHAWN]ER  1796?  St Lawrence's Church, Hawkhurst

The medallion measures 18inch x 15¾inch and is cut in relief on a flat tombstone in the churchyard on the west side of the church.

Arms: [Sa] a chevron between three cherubins’ heads [or]. Crest: a sea-wolf’s head erased ppr.

Here lie buried John [CHAWN]ER [the rest is illegible].
