Toke's and others, Heraldic Ledger Stones in Kent churches

Philip BREWER  1727  St Lawrence's Church, Hawkhurst

The medallion measures 26inch x 24inch and is cut in relief on a blue marble ledger stone in the north chapel.

Arms: Gu. two bend wavy or, a canton vair. Crest: Out of a mural coronet a hand and arm habited gu, holding in the hand, ppr, a battle-axe, ar.

Here lies Interred ye Body of late of Hawkhurst, Gent, son of Tho Brewer Esq. of West Farley in Kent who departed this life the .. of May 1727 in ye 35th .... of his Age.

Note: Philip Brewer was the 2nd son of Thos. Brewer and Ann his wife, daughter of Richard KILBURNE (see No.65).
