Abstract of Will from Hythe, Kent from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Thomas TANNER of Hythe, Kent 10 June 1539

Thomas TANNER, 10 June 1539.
Buried in churchyard of Hieth beside my wife.
High altar for tithes 3s.4d.
Sons John and William my house with a kechyn in Town and Port of Hieth in East Ward.
Son William two fare of herring nets called flewer, fare and half of mackerel nets, drawte of hooks.
Executor – John my eldest son, and have a cobbord, fare of herring nets and mackerel nets, my best dublet.
My ship (sic) the John Baptist be sold, money - £10 to Joane my youngest daughter, also best feather bed, my wife’s best gown, kirtle.
Edward MILFORD my son in law, Harry ELSON my brother in law my blue worsted dublet, and his wife my sister 6s.8d.
William TANNER my brother a prize coat.
Executors – son John TANNER and with his brother William and Margaret my daughter have residue.
Witnesses – Dom Harry DIXSON, curate of Our Lady parish in Dover, Henry ELSON, John BREDGATE, Richard HEWET.
Probate 20 August 1539.
