Will of Henry PREST of Goodnestone next Wingham 12 August 1502

Henry PREST, 12 August 1502.
Buried in churchyard of Holy Cross of Goodneston.
High altar 3s.4d; to the church 20 marcs (£13.6s.8d) for a vestment, viz. chassible with two tunicles and cope.
To Corpus Christi, Light of St John Baptist, St Mary, of Holy Cross called Offinton, four bushels of barley each.
To the Churches of Ewell, Colred, Berston, Nonington, Adisham, Wingham, Staple, Aysshe, Wodnesborough, Eastrey, Knolton, Chillinden 6s.8d. each, on condition the wardens do ring the bells for exequies at the day of my trental, and one mass to be celebrated on the morrow in each church for my soul.
To the Friars in Sandwich to celebrate for my soul in their church a quarter of wheat.
Isabelle my daughter at her marriage 40s, 40 ewes, two cows.
Residue after paying debts, etc. to y wife Margaret.
Executors – Wife Margaret, Robert QUILTER, Robert POYSSE.
Feoffees of my lands and tenements – Thomas PREST, Robert POYSSE.
Wife Margaret have same for her life, then to Isabelle my daughter and her lawful issue. If she die under age then to my Feoffees to sell and dispose money for our souls.
Witnesses – Dom John GOODFELOW, vicar there, Thomas A PETTE, John AT SOLE.
