Abstract of Will from Ebony, Kent from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Joan ROLFFE of Ebony, Kent 5 April 1489

Joan ROLFFE, widow of Ebney, 5 April 1489.
Buried in churchyard of St Mary of Ebney.
High altar for tithes 12d. Light of St Mary 12d. Light of St Stephen 6d. Light of St Katherine 6d.
Residue after paying debts, etc. to my Executor – John NORLAND, with William COUPER supervisor.
Feoffees – William COUPER, William MOSDON, Robert COUPER, junior, take the rule of my place and seven acres of land until the rightful heir come to full age, then to have profits of same place and land.
The church of Ebney have 20s; to the shingling 20s; to the pewing 20s; to an altar cloth of St Michael 5s, which money is in hands of Stephen HICOTTS for terme.
My best beads of amber and best girdle to Our Lady’s use.
Three acres of land to William POTYN senior.
