Will of John MYLLER of Ebony, Kent 2 March 1552-3

John MYLLER of Ebney, 2 March 1552-3.
Buried in the churchyard of Ebney.
To the poor men’s box there 6s.8d.
Robert WREKE my godson one ewe and lamb. John HARNBY my russet cote and a pair of stoppe. Thomas SMYTHE my servant one heifer bud at the Feast of St George next coming.
My daughter, Thomas PAYNE’S wife and Symon BAKER’S wife every of them one heifer of the age of three years.
Son John MYLLER four steers of three years old, the best three kine, two heifers of three years old, three heifers of two years old and four buds, one trotting mare of five years old, one mare stagge of two years old, and John shall have the rule and custody of the heirs of John JEFFE and their lands during the time of their nonage, and £9 of money which I have of the heirs, best using the same as is mentioned in the last Will of the same JEFFE, and paying unto Joane and Amy JEFFE all such money due to them by the said Will.
The same John MYLLER shall set up an house (in the stead of the house that was brent) upon the lands of the said heirs of JEFF. Towards the charges thereof I give unto him a house at Smalhithe bought of late for the same purpose.
To John MILLER my lease of ferry marsh which I had of George PHILLIPPE of Tenterden.
To Richard MILLER my son two oxen called Lucke and Goore, two kine, four two yearings, four buds, two of the youngest bald mares, seven ewes, four lambs and two acres of wheat upon the ground.
Jone my wife my lease of tenement and lands wherein I now dwell called Norlands and my other lease called Shortes during her life and widowhood. If she dies or remarries to sons John and Richard.
Residue of goods, etc. to Jone my wife and George my son equally , they to pay to Heline JEFFE at her marriage £5 and son George to have his portion at age of 21 years. If wife marry before he attains that age she to pay him his portion.
Executor – John MILLER aforesaid.
Son John my tenement with appurtenances wherein he now dwelleth and all the lands belonging in Stone in fee simple for ever on condition he pays unto Jone my wife every year 20s.
Richard my son, tenement and lands wherein Thomas FOSTER now dwelleth in Stone, in fee simple for ever.
George my son, tenement and lands, etc. wherein John FORTEN now dwelleth in Stone, in fee simple for ever.
Jone my wife have the yearly profit of my son George’s part until George be21 years, wife paying the lord’s rent and keeping the reparations.
Witnesses – Henry GOLDINGE, John FORTEN, John POUTTE and Thomas HASELL.
