Richard KYNGSNOTH of Ebney, 4 October 1520.
Buried in the churchyard of Our Lady of Ebney.
At my buryng day a priest to pray for my soul 3s.4d. and month’s mind 3s.4d. High altar for tithes 12d. To the Roodlight 2d; to Saint Thomas’s Light 2d; to St Peter’s Light 2d; to Saint Katherine’s Light 2d.
To an honest priest 6s.8d. to pray for my soul, etc. in the church of Ebney at Easter next after my death if it may be or else at some other holy time shortly following.
To the church way mending 6d.
To Joane my daughter a cow and my great chest.
To Julyane my daughter a cow and my jeneper chest, a pair of beeds of corrall with silver gander and with one silver ring.
To Alice my daughter a cow, my carved chest, and my best girdle, at their ages of 16 years, each to be the other heir.
Agnes my wife have my dwelling house and garden, etc. during her life, doing repairs and seeing my children be well kept.
If she marry again then my children have out of my house, etc. 10s. a year to their profit and keeping.
After the death of Agnes my wife my house, etc. remain to Joan, Juliane and Alice my children, each the other’s heir. If all die without heirs, the house, etc. to be sold, and a priest maintained in the church of Ebney to pray for my soul, my wife’s soul as long as the money will endure.
Executors – Agnes my wife and Thomas MONDE of Woodchurch.
Residue of goods, etc. to my wife.
Witnesses – Sir John FAYRE, John HAMOND, William CRISTIAN, John HOUS.
