Will of John GILFIELD of Snargate, Kent 18 January 1517-8

John GILFIELD of Snargate, 17 May 1517.
Buried in churchyard.
Wife have four of the best kine, 10 sheep, three hogs, two mares.
Wife with sons Thomas and Robert have two oxen, two mares, plough, wain during life of wife, then to sons.
Daughter Margery two kine, eight sheep, the other half of household stuff when 18, and at her marriage 40s.
Sons Thomas and Robert each five sheep.
Residue after debts paid to my Executors Edmond ROBIN, William KOELL, to keep my son Simon to school until he is 25.
Sons Thomas and Robert when 18 have a tenement with 18 acres bought from John EDOLF and Harry PHILIPPE, my Executors taking the profits for seven years after my death, then to sons.
Wife have tenement and three acres for life then to sons Thomas, Simon, Robert.
Son Simon £10 when 25.
Witnesses – Dom Christopher GAY, vicar of Brensett, Dom William BROWN, Dom Patrick DELLYE.
