Will of John BENETT of Snargate, Kent 9 February 1484-5

John BENETT of Snargate, 20 November 1484.
Buried in churchyard of St Dunstan of Snargate.
   High altar for tithes 12d. To the four Lights there, to each one 20d. To parish clerk 6d. To making of a new Tabernacle for the Blessed Virgin Mary there 6s.8d. To the painting of the Image of Holy Trinity 20d. To reparation of the Beme before the Image of St Katherine there 20d.
That Petronille my wife have all my domicilium and to each Executor for his labour 3s.4d.
Residue of goods and chattels after paying debts, etc. to wife Petronille, who with Henry LAMSYN, Executors.
Feoffees of all my lands, tenements, etc. – John BENET, William TOLKYN and Henry LAMSYN of Snargate.
   Wife Petronille have three messuages and 12 acres of land for her life, then Isabelle HAYE have the messuage in which I dwell, with three acres of land to same, and to her heirs, but if Isabelle HAYE have no lawful heirs, then at her death to be sold and money to marriage of poor maidens, repair of bad roads, etc. etc.
   After death of wife Petronille, the two messuages and nine acres of land to be sold, and five marcs (66s.8d) ad pavatur (to the paving) of the church of Snargate, and residue for our souls, to bad roads, etc.
   After my death the four acres of land obtained from Thomas COLYN to be sold and money to a priest celebrating in church of Snargate for a year for my soul, etc.
