Abstract of Will from Stone next Faversham from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of James BOKLAND of Stone next Faversham 21 August 1491

James BOKLAND of Faversham, 10 March 1490-1
Buried in the church of the Monastery of Holy Saviour.
High altar of Stone church 6d.
Residue to wife Joan, who with John BINDER my Executors, to dispose for my soul.
   Wife have my chief place with all lands for life in the parish of Stone beside the Beken, doing repairs, paying the rent to the chief Lord of the Fee. After her death to James, son of Robert GORE and his lawful issue, in default to be sold, money disposed to the Monastery of Holy Saviour £20, to maintain the Lights of Holy Saviour and the Petty Cross there, to John Boll BUKLAND my brother’s son 40s, to William his brother 40s, Thomas, son of John BOKLAND 40s, Robert GORE 40s, repair of Stone church 20s, repair highway between Stone church and Faversham 10s, residue to Katherine, Margaret, Anne, the daughter of Richard GORE.
The Prior and monks of the Monastery have 10s. yearly out of a tenement with three acres of land in Stone parish, that they keep my Obit yearly for ever, and every monk being a priest at dirige and mass have 6d, any others 4d.
