Abstract of St Lawrence Thanet Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of William TAYLOUR 6 June 1473 of St Lawrence Thanet

William TAYLOUR of St Lawrence in Thanet, 6 June 1473.
Buried in churchyard.
Lights of Holy Sepulchre, Assumption of Blessed Mary, St Thomas the Martyr, to each 4d. To the work of the church one sheep.
Residue after paying debts etc. to Nicholas UNDERDOWN and John PERYE of Rammysgate, who Executors to dispose for my soul.
   Son William have a croft of six acres at Manston, between lands of William PESE east and of John BESAUNT and Joan his wife west and to his heirs for ever, but if no man child, then to John, son and heir of Henry TAYLOUR and his heirs, but if none then to Nicholas TAYLOUR, brother unto same John and to his heirs, but if none, then the croft to be sold and money – 10s. to the church of Minster and 13s.4d. to church of St Lawrence in Thanet, and the rest for John, the son of Harry TAYLOUR my messuage wherein I dwell, and half acre and half a rod of land at Manston between the common way west and land of John BESAUNT east, when 20 years old, but the profit and increase when 15.
All my other land divided between John and Nicholas when 20, but to have increase and profit when 15.
Alice daughter of William TAYLOUR the younger 20s. and to Denys, daughter of Harry TAYLOUR 20s.
That Alice the widow of Harry TAYLOUR now departed, have the lands and tenements which shall fall unto John and Nicholas, until they are 15.
