Roger SAWNDER of St Lawrence in Thanet, 24 January 1498-9.
Buried in churchyard.
High altar 12d. At sustentatonem of Light of St Katherine 12d. and to each Light of which I am a Brother 4d. Ad opus of the church 6s.8d. Ad reparation summi pulipti in church 20s.
Wife Joane all utensilia, two cows, calf, 40 ewes with their lambs, mare, three quarter of corn and one of barley.
Roger at BROOKE have 10s. Robert BROWN one bushel of corn. Henry SAWNDER one bushel of corn. Juliane EVERARD 5s. Robert SMITH two bushels of corn.
To providing a chaplain for my soul for half a year five marcs (66s.8d).
Residue after paying debts to son John.
Executors – Son John and William WHITE.
Feoffees – John BAKER and Gilbert FERDBROKK.
Wife Joane have, hold and occupy 10 acres of my best land except the croft called Berowhs, during her life.
Son John have all my other lands and tenements and to his heirs, also the other after death of Joan.
Obit in the church for seven years of 3s.4d. yearly.
To Elenor HOOLE my servant 20s and the raiment of her body price 13s.4d.
Witnesses – Sir Nicholas FOCKS, vicar, Thomas MORKYN, John QUYLLOK.
